Congrats on the new pup, he is a doll. I got a kick out of the description on the rescue site saying he is a tiny one, I guess they do not do much yorkie rescue, since 9 lbs would not be considered tiny, but that does not really matter if he is the right size for you. From the curve of his tail I would say he could be part pom. Take a look at the photos in my profile, he looks a bit like my Lola who is a yorkie pom mix. Full bred yorkies don't shed but Poms shed a lot. While Lola does not shed individual hair strands, I will find little puffs of hair on the floor. I never had that with my pure breds yorkies. I paid $450.00 for Lola at 16 weeks, but then had to pay for all her first year vet bills which was probably another $500.00 because in addition to her spaying I opted for a full blood panel. So for a young cute dog with full vetting what you paid is probably the going rate. I so love his tail, with Lola if I do not trim her tail it has grown as long as 14" which LOL is longer than her body, but she still carries is up high like it weighs nothing. It will be interesting to see how your guy looks if you let the hair on his tail grow longer. Lola is also quite the spinner/twirler I hear that is a big pom trait. |
