Thanks everyone! |
The largest litter I have raised was a litter of 8. The mom was 8 lbs. All the puppies survived but it was a tremendous amount of work. Your mom will definitely need a calcium supplement. My vet had me give the momma two calcium pills a day. I use Doc Roy's Healthy Bones from Revivalanimal.com. I also fed the momma about 4 meals a day a mixture of dry puppy food soaked with some canned puppy food added to that.
You may have to supplement the pups if the momma is not producing enough milk. Please seek guidance from someone knowledgeable in your area. Your vet could be very helpful also.
As for what to ask for the puppies, it really depends on the area your live in. Around here ckc puppies go for around $400 to $600 depending on size. Smaller sized yorkies go for more.
Please keep us updated on how the puppies do.
