I would not worry about the pee in the crate for right now. When I got my large breed dog at 7wks and about 20lbs, I slept with her in our garden room. I got up 2 or 3 times a night for 2 weeks to bring her outside to potty, and she needed that.
Now imagine a 5wk old puppy at under 1lb and the size of their bladder. If I had to let my young 20lb puppy out at 7wks old several times a night, it is obvious that a very very young small breed puppy would need at least the same.
If your pup pees in her crate at this young age, the fault is most likely yours, not hers! That means you were not on top of things, bringing her outside or onto the peepads regular enough.
So what do you do? Bring her outside every two hours, of after she wakes, eats, or plays. Or onto her peepad. And well then, if an accident happens so be it at 5 or 6 wks old way way way too young to expect housebreaking perfection.
Most folks who own dogs n young children are ready and willing to put up with a less than perfectly clean home, and a bit of a mess from time to time.
I know I have had to adjust my *need* to have a spotless home. We now live in a comfortably clean home.
