I think they talk about the windshield and how it could shatter and send glas flying around in case of an accident. I do understand that concern, yet I feel, since the car seat is strapped to the seat through the seat belt and the dog's harness is attached to the seat belt with a strap, they are just as "safe" as humans would be in case of an accident while wearing a seat belt. There, of course, are risks each way there isn't anything that is 100% safe.
