my mini yorkie, Franky, has these asthma like attacks when he gets to excited, I hold him and rub his throat gentle. my vet said this breed does that and not to worry unless it gets serious. it doesn't seem to effect him when it's over. i'm more shook up then he is. it only happens when i come home after 10 hours of work and he just goes nuts welcoming me home. like i was gone for a year or something. i don't know how to relate to him that i am coming back and he doesn't need to worry. He gets so excited jumping like a bball i worry he is going to break his legs. then the coughing or whatever it's called starts and i try to hold him and whisper to him to settle down. he knows that command and then in a minute it stops. but it scares me. |
