I did a quick search and it's not totally common, but certainly a possibility that there's garlic in it. There's ginger too, which I'm not sure if that'd affect our little ones negatively, but why would you chance it? Given how defensive my grandmother got when I told her about the vet visit, I don't think she'll be giving the the recipe any time soon.
