Ok I have 2 carriers, One of then is a leather carrier that I tote him around in. It is a carrier/carseat. It has a strap that you can put the seatbelt though. I also have have a plastic carrier/crate thing that is bigger then the is carrier. I use it on long trips. It doesn't have a strap but I do put the seatbelt around it and through the handle. It says in place pretty well. We put it though the test not too long ago. We were going up to my moms and my husband must have dazed off for a second, because he slammed the breaks to avoid hitting the car in front of him. All but my son had our seatbelts on. He was in the back of the van asleep and was awaken by being toss off of his seat. As for the rest of us including Gus, were all just fine and carrier did not budge a bit.
