We're all dog here - the hair grows on it's own and is groomed and brushed - but it's basically the same long hair all year round - and we certainly have all extremes in Iowa. I worried about the summer heat, but if they get too warm they want in the house. But my outdoor girl, Roxy, could care less about the extremes in temp. - I have to beg her to come in when it's cold or hot. It's in the low 50s today and she has been outside basically all day!
As for boots, no time for that when there might be other dogs out or squirrels to chase.
