But having traveled myself, known those who've lived, traveled or served abroad all over the world, you come to learn that occasionally the police of any country will do more in some situations than the actual laws of the country allow if one can appeal to one or more of them. Or they can direct you to other help. Private investigators populate Asia, too, and have their own particular ways of networking and finding out things, getting cases solved.

Perhaps if there is a dog rescue center in the area or a church, religious community, they could become involved and try to reach those holding your dog.

We're just throwing out ideas and maybe it's worth a try at least. All they can say is no or offer no help and OP is no worse off than before. Offering ideas doesn't mean we're no less supportive or prayerful of our poor member who is no doubt frantic right now, wondering, worrying herself silly.

stl, just because microchipping doesn't work where you are, would it be ineffective if the dog were taken to another part of the country a little away from where you are and scanned there? Couldn't you still be tracked through the chip registry via the internet in the event someone has your dog one day who scans it? Even if it's only a 1% chance of somehow getting your little one returned to your arms, many figure it's worth any extra help we can get.

This is one of every dog-owner's nightmares - to find out someone has your very own furry soulmate but isn't immediately open to seeing the two of you re-unite for some inane, specious reasons!

I pray those holding stl's sweet baby will be miserable until they return him ASAP and he's forever safe at home after that.

Don't worry, stl, we're in this with you, only wanting you reunited with that sweetiepie of yours as soon as possible. Hugs to you.

Well said
