Treacle sweets are traditionally eaten on Guy Fawkes Night. It's a very, dark, sweet hard toffee. It's easy to make, but does take awhile to get up to temperature for it to turn out right. The smell and taste of it just screams bonfire night to me.
Jacket potatoes are just baked in the oven skin-on potatoes. Skin oiled and salted and baked in the oven for over an hour, so the outside is crispy and the inside is mushy goodness. My youngest bonfire night memory is standing around the bonfire at about three years old munching on a tinfoil wrapped jacket potato with neighbours and friends, excitedly waiting for the fireworks.
