Thanks for great suggestions! Since Piper knows her leash means going for a walk, I'm concerned that using it as a deterrent (although terrific idea) would confuse her. I was actually contemplating some kind of barrier-block to front door because safety is paramount, but hadn't though of the pen-idea, Ms Verbena. Guess what I'm going to be constructing, creating on my weekend?!!! The concern that you all have shown for Piper's safety and well-being touches me beyond words and my gratitude knows no bounds. I'll let you know how and what kind preventive measures work!
