I don't understand what you mean by "registered by state".
Also, AKC registration doesn't always mean everything--puppy mills, BYBs, it's all easy for them to get AKC registration.

Just because you pay $800 doesn't mean that you will get a sick puppy. People sell sick puppies all the time, from $200, to $500, to $800, to $1200, to $5000. You just have to do your research and make sure to spot all the red flags.
