The reason why $500 is so low for a puppy is because most reputable breeders charge $1000-1200. Why? Because of the cost of the parents, the food, the shots, the vet visits, the training, the grooming, the puppy pads, the cost of the crates, X-pens, not to mention all of the work that goes with it. If she charges $500 for a puppy, that's exceedingly cheap, considering that she would be losing thousands per puppy....
I don't understand what you mean by "registered by state".
Also, AKC registration doesn't always mean everything--puppy mills, BYBs, it's all easy for them to get AKC registration.
Just because you pay $800 doesn't mean that you will get a sick puppy. People sell sick puppies all the time, from $200, to $500, to $800, to $1200, to $5000. You just have to do your research and make sure to spot all the red flags. | Where do you see that?
