All I know is I grew up with a dog who had terrible dew claw problems and Callie as well has had many even with her dew claws cut short. She has had it pulled off and lots of vein and nerve exposed as well as just infections. I personally think they should be removed and there are lots of study's to back that up as well. If I were going to get a puppy or have a puppy I would want one with the dew claws removed.
