The balls also prevent the pins of the brush from penetrating the hair & will not brush out all the tangles & you'll end up w/lots of tangles that are to the skin.
My hairstylist had a new brush, and it looked very similar to the one pictured here, very small balls on the end, not like the usual ball size. Anyway, she raved about this brush for hair that tangles and I told her basically what you just said, and she said there was something different about this brush and it glides like butter through hair. I didn't get the brush, but I wonder if these ball tips are different.
