So owners weigh the potential benefits and consequences. Personally, I choose to microchip as it increases the chances of ZoE being returned to me if she should ever be lost. It also shows legal proof of ownership, should any dispute arise with a lost or stolen pet.
I can feel the implant, so know it's location and can monitor for any potentially developing lump in the future.
Also, for international travel, microchipping is required.
