I have a really nervous type of dog and she is afraid of fireworks and sometimes thunder which I think can be understandable but if it were to more everyday noises I would be conditioning her to get used to the noises not avoiding things that bring noise like pennies in a can |
Thank you chachi, just like you protect your child, I protect my Cody, his behavior can feel like a threat to another dog, he could be seriously injured even killed. This is for his protection, my peace of mind, and no embarrassment. No one likes a child that screams and has temper tantrums in public places, then hear ppl say why don't those parents discipline that child. That's how I feel Cody is, ppl don't know he's adopted and came to me with this behavior. Cody is not afraid of thunder, thank god, all my past babies were. I had extensive roof work done this summer, they used nail guns, Cody freaked out barking, jumping in the air trying to get on the roof where the noise was coming from lol, oh, I didn't mention Cody is mixed, he's 1/2 kangaroo. Then I some deck repairs done right after the roof, they used nail guns also, again, Cody went nuts, the man laid the gun down to refill it and Cody attacked it, KILL THE NAIL GUN, so he's not afraid of loud noises, if I used penny's in a can he would want to attack the can lol, water spray worked and was quiet on my ears. I know he will not get sprayed on next session, as long as that bottle is in his view lol.
