I am not an expert, but I have read everything I can get my hands on and we are waiting for liver biopsy results on Gracie as I write this.
Some people have said that the pups will be sick, not eat well, the liver will have time to clear the toxins, they feel better and then eat, getting sick again. None of that happened to Gracie, who has never acted sick. We just found the problem when they did blood work before patellar surgery. Our first hope was that she had eaten something she shouldn't (imagine that possibility!), but retesting six weeks later gave the same result for us.
I hope your little one does well. I am glad that you are following up with your vet.
Please keep us up to date. There are a legion of folks here who have dealt with this issue, and they have encouraged newcomers to the "club" with success stories--we need them when our babies are sick.
