Bless your poor heart - and you didn't let Mickey down - you were doing your job for the support of your family who counts on you and besides, you know what pressures you were under and if he could have understood the situation, Mickey would "get it" and chastise Daddy for any feelings of unfounded guilt. It sounds like he was being well-cared for in your absence but his time to go just came - as it always does for our beloved furbabies - far too soon. I'm so sorry you are going through this and I hurt right along with you. Reading your posts and thoughts reminds me of when I lost my Jilly on Christmas Eve, 2003. The pain never really goes away but it does get better as time passes.
