Hello,
I have Trupanion insurance for my yorkie. With a $1000 deductible I pay about $17/month. The younger the dog is when you sign up, the lower your monthly payment will be. I have found this to be especially helpful when my yorkie had C. Dif., at which time I was paying $35/month with a $100 deductible. The insurance company reimbursed me approximately $200 of the vet bill, and I only paid $100 of it. I do find it to be worth the cost, mostly because my yorkie has luxating patella, so I fear that he will end up with arthritis down the road. It is also good peace of mind knowing that God forbid an accident occurs, I am only responsible for $1000 plus 10% of the cost to take care of my baby.
Hope this helps!
