This is the breed standard. My dogs are registered with the BBCA which has high standards reguarding the breeding of biewers and follow the original standards. They require dna testing on all puppies registered with the club. You can absolutely not breed with anything except another biewer. I know I'm new to biewers but from my understanding BTCA has in the past attempted to change the weight standard and was at one point breeding biewers and yorkies. Iknow how I feel about that but will do what I feel is right if my girls are good enough to breed. Personally I don't care if they are recognized by the AKC. AKC just means their pedigree is known. They set a standard yes, but anyone can register their dogs no matter how far off the standard they are. Then the AKC collects the fees.
