Hi Shelbysmom. I think that anyone who has both a Yorkie and a Biewer will tell you unconditionally they are two different breeds. I am not getting into this Biewer vs Biewer Yorkshire Terrier vs Yorkie issue. Been there, done that and it wasn't pretty I have both a Yorkie and a Biewer and love them to pieces, but my Yorkie is cautious and more stand-offish than my Biewer who actually thinks he is a human scarf when he see someone laying down. He is a real lover and totally fearless. Two different dogs, two different breeds.
