It's always very important, imo, to have a doggie ER kit for at home...and having some common meds on hand is part of that equation...as well as knowing their proper doses.

The dose I have always been told for Benadryl from my regular vet and my Vet Derm is 1-2mg/pound. Benadryl is a very important med - it can literally save your dog's life if there is a severe allergic reaction -- (to a bee, a scorpion, fire ants, whatever)...so def know the dosage and have it on hand and/or if you travel w/ your doggies.
