It's the 2nd one on the bottom, the one on top is more for people, it's a little too big to use on doggies. The 2nd one toward the bottom has a smaller opening for the hair to go in, so you need to twist the hair (if it's long) & put it in through the smaller hole.
I never boarded my pups, but some boarding places also have grooming available. Maybe if they have it, the groomer can take care of Pippin's hair? If not, I'm sure you can ask one of the caretakers to put the top knot up again. Provide them w/the brush, comb, terry scrunchies or bands...maybe show them how to do it if they don't know how.
