Welcome to YT, I don't know about Sentinel, I only use Frontline, did you read the package instructions on the Sentinel. Frontline can be used 24 hours AFTER A BATH. I bathe my dog in the morning, the next day (24 + hours after bath) in the evening I apply the frontline, then let my dog out the next day, I give the frontline time to work , I have deer and other wild life critters. Never had fleas or ticks using Frontline, but always applied in the manner above. If you need to wait 24 hours after a bath to apply the Sentinel, but you applied it the same day of the bath it is not going to work. If Sentinel can be used the same day as the bath you should be fine, but let me add this. If you saw only flea dirt and no fleas that does not mean you may not have fleas or flea eggs in your home. You need to wash all dogs bedding and your bedding if your pup goes on your bed, and vacuum your entire house, bed, sofa, where ever you dog has been. Empty the contents of the vacuum into your OUTSIDE TRASH PAIL. Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum daily to ensure no fleas or flea eggs are still in your home. If you have applied the Sentinel according to package directions there is no reason why you cannot let your baby out. Many members use Sentinel. You will be advise and suggestions given from other members shortly. I just re-read your posting and it appears you did not bathe her before applying the Sentinel, so not sure what you did. A bath should be given to remove the flea dirt, that is flea poop as I am sure you know since you researched it. Good luck
