My 4 1/2 month Yorkie was spayed yesterday. She did really good. I brought her home after the surgery(about 7 hours after) and she slept most of the evening. she woke up around 2 am licking her incision and would not stop. The vet told me to tie an old tee shirt around her belly so she can't lick. It does help, but I am afraid when I leave her alone she will pull the tee off.

Also how long does it take for the anesthetic to where off? She is still very sleepy and mellow today, 24 hrs. later. Although I don't think she is in pain or has a fever, but what do you give a 5 lb. Yorkie for pain and fever, incase she needs it in the future?
