Just put the open crate in the pen with potty pads. I promise that if you can resist for a couple of nights she will learn quickly. We put Gracie downstairs in the laundry room after the first couple of nights and she learned almost immediately that it was her safe spot. She may bark when she is there during the day, but we never hear a peep out of her at night.
