I am so sorry that happened to you. I'm relieved to hear neither of you were physically harmed, but I imagine the fear will take a long time to go away. When I had three Yorkies who are now at the Rainbow Bridge, I dropped a leash a few times accidentally. I have a few Buddy Belts with matching leashes, but I also got a couple of reflective leashes from Hurrta which you slip your hand into neoprene. They are wider than the Buddy Belt leashes that I prefer, but I feel safer with this leash, particularly at night. I know you didn't drop the leash, but in still thought I'd share this anyway.
