My adopted Cody is only with me 6 months and has me well trained, (but after 4 yorkies I dance to their tune, so it's automatic, they whine, bark, I jump) when Cody sees a critter through the window, he'll come running to me, jumping, barking running to the door, I always let him out (it's a deck) to show him "see it's gone now". Yeah, they all trained me very well, wouldn't have it any other way.
