Ok, so I am about to visit my breeder for the first time tomorrow. I have second pick of three males AKC. The parents are both five lbs with championship backgrounds in their lineage. I have the choice of taking the smallest (which was 2.5 oz at birth and weighs 8 oz now at four weeks) or the other male which was 3 oz at birth but 11.8 oz now. She doesn't breed for size. Small home breeder, family raised. She had five pups two females, three males ranging from 2.5 oz to 4.5 oz at birth. She told me the first pick did not choose the smallest and that I can have him if I want. I will be checking the two that I have to pick from and make my choice based on health, personality, etc. In looking back through her female's previous litters, I notice she seems to throw one or two out that are on the small side. Her pups range in the four to six lb range at maturity. In this case, I feel confident that the small one will still be healthy and not a high risk. I would like your expert advice-let me know what you think. Thanks in advance
