I did them 2 different ways. My first attempt at using the Hemmer Foot did not go well... so I became reacquainted with my trusty seam ripper, lol. The Pink version was done by folding the brocade fabric over by hand to sew the hem. The pink mesh and the silky lining were hemmed (separately) using the zigzag stitch. The zig hits the fabric and the zag just misses it. This causes the material to roll over on itself and to form a small hem. Trim away anything that gets left sticking out when done.


The 3 skirts (each, total 6) of the other 2 dresses were hemmed using a Hemmer foot. Yes, the brocade, the mesh, and the lining. It gave me a chance to get a lot of practice in, lol. I do like how they turned out, as it produces a hanky-like hem. The tricky part was encasing the fishing line into each hem to get the Curly effect.
