I picked the chicken we butchered and roasted this week and made a gravy from the drippings, I will make a broth with the remainder and hopefully we will have a nice rainy soup night this week
I took the chicken and the gravy and mixed it with peas, corn, carrots and green beans, topped it with mashed potatoes and baked it in my cast iron skillet (made a vegetarian version for my daughters in a smaller cast iron) my sweet love prepared cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and purple cabbage to grace leafy colorful greens coated in pepper and Blue cheese and yum, what a great dinner to come in and have after the very last light slipped away working hard in the garden
