We take an x-pen with us on all our vacations. It is perfect for putting our pups in, while we go out to eat, etc. I know my girls cannot escape, if a maid or someone else were to come in the room/rented house for whatever reason. We also use it to block off decks and porches as needed when we are out on the deck. It does fold up flat, but it is big, so we put it in first then put our suitcases on top.
