Some dogs do well on Trifexis, and others don't. You will find plenty of vets saying good things about Trifexis. That said, WHY IN THE WORLD would a vet give a medication to a dog under 5 pounds that is specifically labeled for use on dogs 5 pounds and up? I can maybe understand the vet saying to reduce the size of the dose, but did the vet recommend the full 5 pound dog dose?

Frequently -Asked Questions — trifexis.com

"Trifexis is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and greater, and 5 pounds of body weight or greater. To receive FDA approval, Trifexis was tested in hundreds of dogs and detailed clinical reports were submitted for intense review."

"Given as directed, Trifexis is a safe, effective and convenient way to help protect your dog from parasites."
