One thing to safely do is to always give Benadryl 45 mins prior to a vaccine. My vet says that in her 30 yrs as a vet - she has NEVER witnessed a vaccine reaction in a dog who has been given Benadryl prior. I'd especially recommend it for rabies. |
That's a great tip! Thanks. I'm paranoid because 5-pound Jillie had a reaction after a rabies shot. I was almost ready to say no more and be in violation of the law, but it would also keep her from being a therapy dog

I'll look into the Benadryl idea!
