It's sort of both...the pads don't hold up bc the sun just bakes them and the fabric breaks down and tears; we never took them down for storage bc we have our furn out all year round here....so it's super tough on the furniture; we gave up on our padded furniture. Then we went to this tight-weave type stuff (no pads), and some of it is holding up well so far, but the ones out in the full sun all day aren't. It may just be a given that we need to replace stuff often out here, but it's so $$$$! |

Outdoor furniture is sooo expensive. I was really lucky and found both of our table sets for half price at Lowes and Target. The chairs for one set are heavy duty aluminum versions of the ones I really wanted. The real metal ones cost hundreds of dollar a piece.
