That's right, a clues thread is not required. I liked how someone else said it though, that it enhances the GE experience. You should join. Aside from the rules, the GE is what YOU make it. You don't have to do a clues thread, but IF you wanted to and don't want to give away your buddy, there are ways around it,
. You make up a fake buddy, or lead your buddy in a totally different direction by giving fake clues. I've seen some very creative clues threads and always admire the thought put into them. But, I understand too if participants don't have time to do clues and keep up with them. It can become time consuming.
