Also, do not shout at him. He won't understand why you are angry, and he will actually be more likely to pee inside and try to hide it. He will think going potty is bad in general, not just in the house.

Positive reinforcement training is so much more productive and successful. When he goes potty outside, praise him every single time. You can also give him a food reward, a single piece of kibble. My boys revel in the praise and the kibble reward. Don't ever stop giving praise.

When you find an accident spot or catch him in the act, just say, "Uh oh. You need to potty outside."
