I think it just depends on the dog. I've always switched btwn foods for my dogs w/ no transition and they've never had a single issue. For other dogs, it may help to have some fiber support during transition.

As far as using pumpkin as a daily fiber supplement - nothing wrong with this, just as nothing wrong w/ humans doing it...just depends on whether there is a need for it. If I wanted my dog to have daily fiber, I wouldn't use pumpkin, I'd use Benefiber.
