In my opinion you should have the crate in your bedroom where he can see you. It can be really scary for a puppy who was just taken from his mom and siblings to all of a sudden be alone in a crate in a room all by themselves. Does he have a potty pad in there? What happens if he wakes up an needs to go potty?
