Gail - Pet Assure isn't insurance - it's just a discount card that you buy that some vets honor. So, you pre-pay for the card - and then you get 20% off of applicable services if your vet is participating. You then file insurance, if you have it, using the already discounted receipt. Insurance companies end up paying less actually...so they don't have a problem w/ it as it benefits them. It's not double insurance .
