| Pet Assure and pet insurance Does anyone know if I can use both of these collectively? I think it would be pretty awesome if I could. |

| I believe you can. I have both myself, my insurance is Trupanion. I have used the Pet Assure for dental and other things that the Trupanion would not cover but I believe you should be able to. Just using the Pet Assure has saved me a lot of $$ on dental and routine care, enough to pay for itself and then some.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Yes, you can. I've used both before at my vet.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Obviously you should not double claim for the same expense, that would be insurance fraud, but there should be no reason not to use one carrier for this condition and the other for a separate reason.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Gail - Pet Assure isn't insurance - it's just a discount card that you buy that some vets honor. So, you pre-pay for the card - and then you get 20% off of applicable services if your vet is participating. You then file insurance, if you have it, using the already discounted receipt. Insurance companies end up paying less actually...so they don't have a problem w/ it as it benefits them. It's not double insurance .

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I loved Pet Assure for the 2 months I had it. In Alaska, only one vet accepted it, and they decided it wasn't worth it if there was no competition. They canceled it two months after I joined. On the upside, sort of, I had a rash of vet expenses in that time and Pet Assure more than paid for itself.
