I think yours is still pretty young.
Ours started to sit/sleep on on our lap around 4-5months old, before I never really noticed that.
I also noticed she loves to lay on her back so we can pet her on her stomach, she starts to smile a bit and really enjoys it, spreads her back legs apart as much as she can
