Bogey is having anal gland issues too. We are not at a point of having to surgically remove them and my vet said it was considered a very last resort. The anus is a sphincter muscle and I would think it would take time to regain the strength to the sphincter after surgery. I'm very interested to see how he heals with more time which I think he needs.
