They say this stuff lasts in the ground up to 2 years....it almost broke my business completely apart....spent WELL over $25,000.00, and shut down breeding for 2 years....actually a year and a half. (The vet could not believe I had parvo as I cleaned my home and crates, etc with strong solution of bleach every day....she had seen my home and just could not believe she was seeing parvo in my babies!) I continue to this day, to spray every level surface, inside and out, with Virkon...once a month all crates, carriers, etc are put in the driveway and thoroughly sprayed down with Virkon and allowed to air dry. Once a month, the floors are sprayed with Virkon....and the walls are wiped down in the nursery with Virkon. Once a week, all bedding, toys, etc are washed in Virkon....all eating and water bowls are sterilized in the dishwasher, then sprayed with Virkon and allowed to air dry. I bought washtubs and I dunk all "hard" toys in that Virkon solution. No dogs come onto this property and none of these dogs leave this property. No one is allowed on this property until the pups are 11 weeks old and have had NeoPar at 4 weeks, 5 way at 8 weeks and again at 11 weeks. People out looking at babies to buy a Yorkie is what brought that horrific disease onto my property around 8 years ago, and it almost killed me. THAT will never happen to me again, not like that. My fabulous vet did manage to save all but one puppy....they threw everything at those babies but the kitchen sink....blood transfusions to immediately provide immunity, research drugs, etc....we even did accupuncture to stimulate their immune systems, and my vet who is a religious lady, they had prayer circles over each baby every day....
