I'm trying to grow out Chloe's coat until it almost reaches the floor. Right now, at 5 months, her hair is about midway down her body. I'm assuming in another 5 months she should have floor length hair. Her face hair is also getting longer, but there are still some short hairs in the top knot that I'm waiting to grow out. I'm also trying to grow out the nose hair so I basically have not trimmed anything at all since I got her. Is this the proper way to grow out the long coat or do I need to trim certain areas like the bottom? She doesn't really get poop stuck in her bottom but I heard that area is suppose to be shaved clean?

I have heard so many scary stories about people's dogs getting injured at the groomers or falling off the table that I really don't feel like trusting anyone.. unless there are some show dog groomers around my area which I'm not sure of how to find them? But since I'm in new york I'm assuming there has to be a show dog groomer SOMEWHERE.. just no idea where lol. Other than that, if I need to trim certain areas while her coat grows I want to try by myself. I'm such an overprotective mommy.. I know, I know.. lol.
