The coyote population has been rising in quite a few areas of the country. Here in the north east the numbers have really gone up a lot. Maybe the harsh winter will have taken a toll on the population.
We have had reports of coyotes not far from where I live but as yet have not had any problem. We do have foxes but they have enough game to live off and don't bother our pets.
It seems that the worst problems are in areas where the coyotes get mixed in with the human population. They don't have many natural food sources so they get into garbage and start picking off the pet population.
