My Pixie was just diagnosed with PLN protein losing nephritis. She just turned 8.
She was acting very depressed and I knew something wasn't right. My vet did blood work, urinalysis and blood pressure. Her BP was very high. On doppler it was 240. She had protein in her urine as well. They did the urine protein creatinine and it came back high. My vet put her on enalapril and referred me to a specialist.
A week later the specialist reran her blood work, urine, BP check and did an ultrasound. Her UPC came back a little higher so they doubled her enalapril, put her on a micro dose of aspirin and fish oil. She is doing so much better. She will be rechecked in another month.
I would wait to see what our vet says and ask them about a diet change. I hope it is just from her UTI's. Please keep us posted. |
