My vet will measure the amount according to each dogs weight. I vile is opened and the correct dose is put in a needle free syringe and applied to that dog. Last year, we got 4 doses out of 1 vile of 25 pounds and under. It treated a 20 lb cocker spaniel, and 3 yorkies. None of them ever had fleas or tics. We only use it during the summer, as our winters are cold. Our little yorkie only gets a couple of drops.
