Default Teeth, Oral Products, Dental Chews, Dental Toys

Hi, As I have previously stated in some of my posts, I rescued and older Yorkie. The original owner just sent me the vet records which indicate she had brought the dog to the vet in june and the vet told her the dog needed a dental but she never did it or told me about this. I found out recently from my own vet and am now searching for someone who is good in my area and who works on small dogs. I suspected a problem when I saw specks of blood on a chew toy I bought for her called Booda Fresh 'n Floss Mini Rope toy. I started using Tropiclean Dental Gel and wiping it on her teeth with guaze. AND I switched her to dry food. I now do not see any blood at all, however I am still taking her for a dental as soon as I find a competent dental vet and the weather calms down in NY. I was giving her a blue nylabone with nubs on it but she was chewing off the nubs and now I don't give her any 'plastic' chew toy. Instead I started giving her edible chews. I just switched her to Zukes Z-Bones Mini Dental Chews, which appear to made of very healthy ingredients.
If anyone has any other suggestions on home care teeth cleaning that I haven't received yet, please let me know. My pet shop manager says he uses the toothpaste from nylabone because it has vitamin C in it. Right now I am just using the Tropiclean Gel until I get to a good dental vet.
