It is so fun getting a new pup, and I share in your joy of thinking about every little detail. What an exciting time. I hope he is an absolute angel and lives up to his sweet name. (BTW, what is the tv show.... I like angels too)

There are many opinions on diet, but most important is to make sure that all nutrients necessary for proper growth and development are provided, especially in the first year. Home cooking is one option but should be done under the guidance of a pet nutritionist. I did partial homecooking for mine for a few years, but included a high quality kibble to make sure they got essential vitamins and nutrients.
